Only three seasons old, Song for the Mute is the merging of the creative talent from award-winning Indonesian Chinese graphic artist, Melvin Tanaya and Parisian-born, Italian-trained, Cambodian fashion designer Lyna Ty.

Lyna won the 1st place scholarship in the Whitehouse Institute of Design, allowing her to finish her masters at the renowned Accademia Italiana di Moda.

While Melvin, a graduate of the Billy Blue School of Graphic Arts with a degree in Communication Design and a Masters in Commerce, brings his creative vision, direction, and business acumen to the partnership.

After being picked up by major Australian and international stockists, Song for the Mute was also invited to show at Paris Fashion week.

The designers enthuse about their brand, “We view Song for the Mute as a license to wander into the conceptual. Fabric and concept drive every collection we design.”
